Cruise Port & Catamaran Guide for Bridgetown Visitors
Cruise ships dock at the Bridgetown Port, just north of the capital. A day in port is short, so a little planning goes a long way.
Arriving at the Port
After leaving the ship, you will walk through the cruise terminal, which has shops, a duty-free area and a taxi and tour desk. If you have pre-booked with us, your driver will meet you at the agreed meeting point outside the terminal.
Catamaran Charters
A catamaran cruise is one of the most popular ways to spend a port day. Trips usually include:
- Swimming with sea turtles along the West Coast
- Snorkelling over shipwrecks in Carlisle Bay
- Lunch and drinks on board
Many catamarans leave from the Bridgetown area. We can take you from the port to your departure point and collect you afterwards, so you do not need to find your own way.
Port Day Ideas
Beach Time (3-5 hours)
Carlisle Bay and Brownes Beach are a short ride from the port. For calmer, quieter water, head up the West Coast to Paynes Bay or Mullins.
Short Island Tour (4-5 hours)
Combine Harrison's Cave, Gun Hill Signal Station and a scenic drive, returning with plenty of time to spare.
Shopping and History (2-3 hours)
Explore Broad Street, Parliament Buildings and the historic Garrison area.
Getting Back on Time
This is the most important part of any port day:
- Know your all-aboard time, which is usually 30-60 minutes before departure
- Plan to be back at the port at least one hour early
- Allow extra time for traffic around Bridgetown in the late afternoon
- Keep your driver's phone number handy
Our drivers know the port schedule well and plan every trip around your ship's timetable.
Tips for Cruise Passengers
- Bring your cruise card and photo ID - you will need them to re-board
- Carry some small US dollar notes for tips and snacks
- Wear sunscreen and bring water
