Best Times to Visit Barbados & Seasonal Events
Barbados is warm all year, with temperatures usually between 24 and 31 degrees Celsius. The best time to visit depends on what you want from your trip.
Peak Season: December to April
This is the driest and busiest time of year, with sunny days, cooling trade winds and calm seas on the West Coast.
- Best for: Guaranteed sunshine and a lively atmosphere
- Good to know: Hotels, restaurants and transfers book up quickly, so reserve early
- Christmas and New Year are especially popular
Shoulder Season: May and June
Fewer crowds, good weather and better availability. A great time for couples and families looking for value.
Summer and Autumn: July to November
This is the rainy season, but showers are usually short and followed by sunshine. The Atlantic hurricane season runs from June to November, although Barbados sits outside the main hurricane belt and direct hits are rare.
- Best for: Quieter beaches and festival season
- Good to know: Travel insurance is always a good idea

Food and Rum Festivals (Autumn)
Barbados is known as the birthplace of rum, and the island regularly hosts food and rum events with chefs, tastings and distillery tours. Check the official tourism calendar for this year's dates.
